I wish I was a tree so I didn’t have to

your arms wrap me

like tree bark

so shielded

so sheltered

I’ll never speak again

emerald green moss covers my wanting mouth

un-hollowed

submerging

as calm as the deep blue sky, I

see the future,

as roiling as the stormy ocean

worry and fear are banished from my heart

more just – curiosity – on how it will start
